The latest research carried out by the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) revealed that the number of property sellers in UK rose by 25% on an annual basis.
As such, an average number of properties on the estate agencies' book rose from 56 in February 2010 to 70 in 2011.
In the opinion of experts at the National Association of Estate Agents, such a sharp increase is due to renewed market confidence as well as more realistic attitude of sellers.
Let us remind that in 2010 many property owners marketed their properties at very high prices simply to "test the water". This year, however, sellers realise how much houses are truly worth and do not overprice them.
The number of buyers also increased. As such, an average amount of buyers registered with real estate agencies in February 2011 reached 268.
In the opinion of NAEA experts, a rise in the number of buyers and sellers on UK property market might keep it stable in the short-term, but over the long term might put pressure on property prices.
